Rakuten Gives Me Hundreds in Cash Back

Rakuten is one of the most popular names in cash-back and shopping rewards. Formerly know as Ebates, they work with over 3,500 stores to offer price-conscious shoppers rewards on everything form travel to gift cards to home improvement. I know this is a travel blog, but just a part of my big savings comes from the money I spend on Travel.

I spend way too much time doing home improvement projects. And when I buy at Lowes, I shop online and use the Rakuten plug-in to help get 1-3% cash back on everything I spend. New floors last year were easily $3k… with just a 1% cash back, that’s a nice $30 that gets added to my BIG FAT CHECK they send out each quarter.

I know I encourage people to look for airfare with Google Flights, but when it comes to hotels and rental cars, I start with Priceline. And guess what, Rakuten + Priceline = BIG FAT CHECKS. Sometimes those Priceline amounts are 4-8% cash back. That savings racks up quite a bit. Also, I recommended Viator and GetYourGuide on my Travel Resources… and those are also on Rakuten. So save some money on your travel and get some cash back too!
